Evening! I can't even begin to explain the rush or overwhelming feeling of emotions this day has brought. Even as Caden had a rough night! there had been a thought of slight improvement! but still a very active, and very real situation that going to Arkansas Childrens Hospital (ACH) was a very real possibility due to the distressed breathing, high fever, and high heart rate. As we spoke with Caden's doctor this morning approximately 9:30am it was decided that ACH would be called, and transported via ACH ambulance from Batesville. After the call to ACH, Caden's sats begin to drop even while on oxygen. His sats dropped to the point that we almost lost him. His doctor then revived his breathing and intubated Caden which meant another call to ACH which then also sent Angel One Helicopter to Batesville.
Once the med team from ACH arrived they took much time attempting to stabilize Caden for the flight, which finally left Batesville around 1:45pm. They and we arrived at ACH this afternoon and talked to the doctors around 6:00pm. They have done a variety of blood labs, lung cultures, X-rays, and an echocardiogram. They are under the impression Caden May not be dealing with pneumonia. We are pleased to report the echo should good results so there is no direct problem with his heart. They are doing an EEG overnight to check on any seizure activity and try to determine what is taking place. The blood test will also check for sepsis, we pray they can find answers, but also know that results can vary from good to bad. We will hopefully have some form of an answer sometime tomorrow. Caden is sedated and resting well, all stats from the sedation and intubation so we must take it at what it is.
This isn't our first go around with ACH, and we are thankful and blessed to have such a wonderful place in our state. Thank you for your continued prayers for Caden and our family.
