Evening! Let me begin by saying thank you for all the prayers, text, support that we have received. Caden is resting peacefully at the moment, but is heavily sedated because he is fighting the effects. As one nurse mentioned earlier the amount of sedation they are given "would knock a healthy adult out". Caden is a fighter and has proved that nurses and docs. He is breathing on his own, while still on the vent but only a volume support of 7 and an oxygen level of 40%.
They performed a minor surgery earlier and inserted a PICC line to administer fluids, IV's, and draw blood from because of his normal vein ports blowing or not lasting from trying to kick his legs and throw his arms. This is a much better option so he won't have to be poked on so much. They started his feeds back today, which are being administered through a TOT are still waiting on blood results which could be back as early as tomorrow, but not a guarantee. They are also checking his UT again tonight.
We are so thankful for the "friends" Caden has made at ACH. Caden's HM Doc, chief nurse, and a member of his med flight team came by to visit with Tammy and I today, and check on Caden. It is a blessing to know these people as more than just medical people, but also as friends who care!!!
Again, thank you for your continued prayers for Caden and the text, calls, messages they mean so much to us. You can also send messages directly to Caden through the Arkansas Childrens Hospital website, on send patient messages.
Tammy many prayers are going up for Caden and the rest of the family. GOD has his mighty hand over this sweet baby . If you need anything please let me know.
