Happy Friday!
We would have a variety of areas, that I would like to write this morning as we have experienced a journey that continues to develop on a weekly basis. There is one thing for sure this journey has brought our faith in God much stronger and continues to teach us lessons that will be applied for lifetimes to come. This leads to the area of discussion for this blog: Our Kids!
As our nation this week celebrated and recognized Martin Luther King, Jr. a dream that is continuing to be discovered, but still lacks in many ways. King dreamed for a country that accepted children and adults not based on race, but on character. Even now as we live in the greatest country on the face of the earth, Americans still struggle to accept individuals based on their character. People still judge based on race, and even at times if not more on disabilities. For many who suffer from disabilities they did not ask for such they were either born with a disability or it was cast upon them during life events.
We are beyond blessed that our three (3) older children are able to know the true meaning of acceptance, kindness, and gentleness because they have learned firsthand through Caden's gifts to them of an unspoken love and daily strength. Though Caden may not speak directly to them to watch the interactions that take place, you know it is a love some could only dream of, not even Disney could write up such stories, unless based on truth.
Our daughter has mentioned and talked on several occasions that some pf her classmates or schoolmates often make fun of or tease children at her school with disabilities and it makes her furious. She has asked them why can't you just be nice to them or be their friends too... Well, I ask why does this still happen??? It goes back to what Dr. KIng dreamed many years ago a place, a country, a land, and a time where people are still dreaming where individuals are accepted based on character and not judged or ridiculed because of race or disability.
What are these families looking for a place to be accepted, loved, and cared about the same each and every person and family is seeking and asking, not differentiated because the have a disability.
God Bless and make a chance to provide hope and acceptance.
